This title page displays a rich iconography in an architectural setting. Hebrew and Latin inscriptions top the design. A large armillary sphere is flanked by representations of the elements, Apollo and the mother-goddess, as well as a geographer and an astronomer, each with his amanuensis. Festooned with pomegranates, roses, etc., and personifications of the continents. A map of the New World and a sea chart of indeterminate place are "incised" on the base of each column.
