Blanchard's Map of Cook and DuPage Counties, 1868. Chicago, 1868. 12¼ x 11½. Full original
stencil color. Creases, chip in left margin outside neat line. A few lightly penciled notes in Jefferson and
Cicero townships, else VG. Scarce; most of Blanchard's maps were published as separates and much of
his inventory and plates were destroyed in an 1885 fire. SOLD
Rail and post roads shown. The Wilmette area in New Trier Township is captioned "Reserve;"
north of it is "Wynetka." Caldwell's and an unnamed reserve appear in Leyden and Jefferson /
Niles Townships. Elmhurst is called Cottage Hill, and West Chicago is Junction. Chicago Map-
