[Asia] L'Asie divisee en ses Principales Parties... 21½ x 34½. Centerfold repaired; a few scattered stains mainly in blank areas; tear repair upper right, but overall VG. SOLD
From Pressburg and Vienna east to the lands of Jesso and New Guinea; from Nova Zembla in the arctic south to the Horn of Africa. Little is known north of Tibet, nor of the Great Wall. These lands show few details and an indeterminate coastline. Though quite narrow, Korea is correctly shown as a peninsula. The cartouches refer to the wealth of the continent by means of allegorical figures lifting bowls of coral, pearls and incense.
