An unusual map of the mountain passes and roads along the Franco-Spanish border from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. The dominant cartouche is capped with a blazing sun and embellished with sun flowers. A fierce lion and feisty rooster present the arms of the Kingdom of Navarre and of France, respectively. Also alluding to the twin kingdoms is the secondary cartouche in which two putti hold crowns of the realms.
