Fine. $950.00 The geography is after De L'Isle. The map extends from Lahontan's fictitious "Riviere Longue" in the west to the Eastern seaboard. The Great Lakes' shapes are recognizable and all have their modern names except lake Michigan which is "Lac de Ilinois." The Remarque Historique at upper left is a lengthy account of the discovery of the St. Lawrence in 1504 by fishermen of Brittany, and of subsequent French achievements. To the south, the Wabash ("Ouabache") and the Ohio Rivers are conflated. Portages are noted on the map.
