This is Covens & Mortier's issue of De L'Isle's important map. It was published in Amsterdam and has lovely old outline color. Schwartz and Ehrenberg praise De L'Isle's geography stating "[The] mouth of the Mississippi and its delta [are] accurately shown on a printed map for the first time...Map influenced delineation of the Mississippi Valley for many years."
