Colored to indicate the position of troops at Yorktown: red for British, blue for French, and yellow for American. French ships are pictured in the York River. Shows topography, lines of fire. Banastre Tarleton was a British officer known for his ruthlessness. This map is from his History of the Campaigns... and was the source for a map which appeared in Stedman's 1794 History of the American War.
